Top 10 Things to do in Norwich this Summer

Top 10 Things to do in Norwich this Summer

Although Summer holidays may be cancelled for another year in a row, we are fortunate in Norwich to have amazing things to see and do, right on our doorstep! To help you take advantage and explore what Norfolk has to offer this Summer, we’ve put together our top 10 things to do:

  1. Visit Dippy the Dinosaur

Norwich’s National History museums beloved Diplodocus is going on tour! Dippy roamed the earth over 150 million years ago and has toured Norwich all Summer to teach about dinosaurs, nature and the environment. You can visit Dippy at Norwich cathedral from the Tuesday 13th July – Saturday 30th October and find out more about Dippy here.

  1. Meet a LIVE Raptor

To celebrate Dippy’s arrival, Norwich is going dino crazy! On your way to the cathedral, explore the city and find the 21 T-Rex sculptures in the GoGo Discover trail. Keep the dinosaur fun going by joining us at Anglia Square on the 13th August, 11am-3pm to meet and take photos with a LIVE baby dinosaur and raptor!

  1. Have a Beach Day

We can fit plenty of beach days in when we are lucky enough to have one of the UK’s most popular spots for day trips, Great Yarmouth, on our doorstep. From sun loungers and deck chairs to wind shields and cool boxes, QD have everything you need to get ready for a day out at the beach. Don’t forget to look after your skin and head to Savers for sun cream too!

  1. Hunt for Treasure at Treasure Island

Grab your pirate hat and map and try your hand at a treasure hunt around Anglia Square. Explore the retailers to spot the odd parrot out for a chance to win a prize! The best dressed pirate is also in with a chance of winning a prize, so go all out! For a quieter treasure trail, email info@angliasq.com to book onto our Autism hour, 9:30-10:30. General admission will run from 11-3pm, booking not required. RSVP to our Facebook event here.

  1. Head Out, Not Home

Head out not home is another great reason to explore the city centre, heading to the shops, cafes, restaurants & bars and stopping to enjoy a series of free live music and entertainment. You can discover the best local talent in Norwich every Sunday afternoon for 7 weeks this Summer, beginning on Sunday 25th July. See the line up here.

  1. Test out your Circus Skills

The Greatest Circus is coming to town! Get dressed up as your circus favourites and visit Anglia Square on the 25th August for all the fun of the fair! Join us for a fun-filled day of circus games, where you can practice your circus skills, take photos in our illusion mirrors and much more!

  1. Picnic at the Norfolk Broads

The Norfolk broads are one of Britain’s most extraordinary national parks and they are less than a 30 minute drive from Anglia Square! Pack a picnic of fresh fruit from Robert Brand Fruits, sausage rolls, crisps and more from Iceland and sandwiches filled with amazing quality meat from Peter’s Family Butcher and head to the broads for a jam packed day out! Whether you want to head out on the water on a boat, kayak or paddleboard or stretch your legs on a long hike or bike ride, the broads are bound to offer a memorable day for everyone.
