Running out of home schooling ideas? Or just want to try something a bit different in today’s lesson? Then read on, as we’ve compiled 5 cool online teaching ideas to keep your little ones interested and learning!


Lesson 1: Cookery Class 🍏🍎

Love Norwich Food  has got us covered! Visit their Instagram page to watch their children’s Cookery Club classes. From healthy bliss balls, veggie burgers and Scotch pancakes and more, it’s a great way of getting kids to cook and have fun too!


Lesson 2: Geology 🌋 💎

Senior Curator of the Natural History & Geology at Norfolk Museums Service, Dr David M.G. Waterhouse, has released loads of fun activity sheets for kids to do while at home! If you head over to his Twitter Here, you can choose from loads of Geology and fossil fact and colouring sheets.


Lesson 3: PE 🏋️🏃

Joe Wicks, The Body Coach, is doing live PE lessons for kids on YouTube, every morning from Monday – Friday at 9am. Joe’s 30 minute workouts get you warmed up, with a PE workout and cool down too. His classes are easy to do at home and don’t need any equipment, so everyone can join in!


Lesson 4: Art 🎨🖌️

The Creation Station, (the guys who did our Superhero Saturday crafts, and Anglia SCARE slime workshop, are doing great daily live fun sessions everyday from 12pm.  They’re also attempting a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for people to do at home! It’s called ‘Our Creative Face‘ and involves creating a collaged portrait. Once they get 50,000 images, everyone who submitted an image will receive their OFFICIALLY AMAZING certificate.


Lesson 5: Nature 🌳🐞

The Woodland Trust have compiled the top ten nature activities to get on with the kids while you’re homeschooling. They have some great ideas including how to make a bird feeder from an old loo roll, minibeast hunts, and natural art. If you explore the website, you’ll also see loads more interesting stuff for kids including the A-Z of British trees, how to identify wildlife and even an Osprey cam!
