16 Jun Super Crafts for Super Saturday
It’s almost time for our first event of the Summer… Super Saturday!
Visit Anglia Square between 11am – 3pm on the 19th June to meet and take photos with your favourite superheroes, you can even bring your Super-Dad along whilst grabbing your last minute Father’s Day presents!
All proceeds raised will go towards Autism Anglia and from 9:30-10:30, our superheroes will be available to meet in a calmer and quieter environment in our Autism Hour. Pre-booked slots are available for the Autism hour, email firstname.lastname@example.org to book your slot.
To help you get prepared for Super Saturday, here are some super crafts to make beforehand! You can find all your craft supplies from Anglia Square, heading to Poundland and QD, and don’t forget to get your Father’s Day cards and gifts from Card Factory!
To get Super-crafty you will need:
A plain t-shirt (any colour of your choosing)
Mask template (download here)
Of course, the first thing a superhero needs is a mask, to disguise their identity!
Print out or draw around the template.
Trace and cut around the template on your coloured felt.
Decorate the mask however you like!
Cut your string to an appropriate length to tie around your head.
Secure string to either side of the mask with cellotape.
Tie around your head and you’re ready to discover your inner superhero!
Not all superheroes wear capes… but you can! Next up is an easy DIY cape fit for only the best superheroes!
Cut the sleeves from an old, oversized t-shirt, cutting diagonally from the armpit to the neck.
Then cut around the neckline, discarding the front of the t-shirt.
Next, cut out a crest and an initial from the felt – this can be designed however you like!
Glue the crest onto the middle of the cape.
To wear, slip the cape over your head (the neckline can also be cut down the middle and fastened together with velcro)
And there you have it, you’re all ready to save the day with your favourite superheroes!
